Every thing went well. The intake opening in the living room was enlarged from 12″x24″ to 18″x24″ and the back wall was cut out and a box installed below the air handler in order to increase the air flow. The old AC system that I had was hooked up to an above ground drain system that ran across my garage floor against a 6″ high raised portion of the garage where my washer and dryer are located. Several times I’ve stepped on it. Rob and Sean cleared the underground drain pipe and tore out the old system. All new copper tubing was used for the heat pump which was installed on a hurricane proof pad. Bushes were trimmed on the sides of the heat pump for adequate clearance. Nice new white grill for the intake opening in the living room wall, and a new easy to read thermostat. Everything looks and works great.Description of work:
I had a complete AC system (air handler and heat pump) installed in my home. Rob and Sean showed up at the designated time and worked straight through the day without a lunch break (8:15am-5:30). They had to wait for a while due to the rain and lightning possibility. They explained what they were doing and did more than was expected. They did a great job and left my garage ( that’s where the air handler is located) cleaner than it was before the job. Chris Sr. gave me a detailed explanation of all my options, models SEER ratings etc. Not only was his proposal the lowest price, it was the most detailed. I highly recommend Gator Mechanical for AC&Heating for home or business. As far as I’m concerned GM stands for Gator Mechanical!!!
Gator was called when our a/c gave out in the middle of the night. You can set your watch to their arrival time. Very responsive and considerate of our situation — three, young children; constraints of time; urgency — all the stuff that is required in this business.
We’re still figuring out our next step, but these guys rapidly put in a temporary unit in order to provide cool air to our house. Wow.
Do: Call Kendall and the crew. Very punctual, very professional, very respectful of time, reputation and service. Do: Ask lots of questions, as they will have answers for you. They will also not try the “up-sell”. They are in the business of selling and servicing their equipment, but I also found them to be problem solvers.
Don’t: Call without doing your own homework. There’s a lot to consider when purchasing an a/c unit — SEER, power loads, real efficiency, cost/benefit, service level requirements, etc.Description of work:
